Yichang forges business ties with Germany

An event focusing on ways in which overseas Chinese based in Germany can do business with Yichang was held yesterday.
Nearly 300 people, including representatives of overseas Chinese, foreign-related economic organizations and entrepreneurs, were invited to the opening ceremony.
The Germany-Yichang Cooperation Session of the 23rd Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China (COCPDC) will last until November 19. It includes commercial exchanges and talent recruitment events. The event also organized tours to companies in Yichang to showcase the city's principal industry clusters.
At the opening ceremony, Yichang signed a cooperation agreement with the Federal Association of Hubei Chinese in Germany.
Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical signed an agreement with Paion AG. Paion is a publicly listed pharmaceutical company that makes anaesthesia and sedation drugs.
Yichang Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Three Gorges Talent Group also signed trade and talent cooperation agreements with the association.
Hu Wentao, Greater China President of Wacker Chemie AG, said he looked forward to building deeper ties with Yichang enterprises through this event.
"The Conference on Overseas Chinese Pioneering and Developing in China provides a great platform for overseas Chinese to achieve win-win results. I hope it will give a boost to Yichang's traditional and emerging industries, especially the renewable energy industry," said Fu Xin, President of Federal Association of Hubei Chinese in Germany.
There were speeches at the opening ceremony on the development of the biomedical industry, intelligent manufacturing, Germany's Industry 4.0 and education.
