Yichang citrus firm signs 2.4B in deals

An Yichang firm signed citrus export deals worth 2.4 billion yuan (US$336 million) at a promotional event held in Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, on
November 6.
Yichang Yiling Red Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. signed agreements with six domestic and foreign companies, including the Russian Asian Fruit and Vegetable Trade Company and Manchurian Jin Kai Tai Fruit and Vegetable Trade Co., Ltd.
Yichang is capitalizing on emerging trade prospects, expanding its export markets to countries such as Russia, Canada, Thailand and Vietnam. Additionally, by hosting multiple citrus product promotional events in cities like Tianjin, Shanghai, Wuhan and Inner Mongolia, Yichang is working to promote both international and domestic sales.
One of the representatives of the Russian company said: "Yichang citrus, with its thin rind and exquisite taste, has won the hearts of Russian consumers." The firm buys citrus from Yichang and distributes it to various Russian cities, reaching as far as Moscow. Weekly sales volumes have reached more than 200 tons.
