New institute to strengthen ties with Papua New Guinea

China Three Gorges University (CTGU) established the Institute of Papua New Guinea Studies on April 23 to deepen collaboration with the Pacific island country.

The university plans to enroll more international students from Papua New Guinea and offer scholarships in majors such as civil engineering, hydropower, and medicine. CTGU will also organize a variety of international activities to promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.
In addition, CTGU will partner with the Papua New Guinea’s AG Investment to develop best practice platforms, tackle technical challenges and share expertise in civil engineering, infrastructure and energy industries. Founded in 1992, AG Investment specializes in civil engineering and construction projects.
Currently, 59 students from Papua New Guinea are studying at CTGU.
