Yichang airport sees passenger surge over May Day Holiday

Yichang Sanxia International Airport handled 53,000 passengers during the May Day Holiday, up 12.8 percent from last year.
Flights totaled 422, a year-on-year growth of 2.1 percent, with a rise in international travelers, totaling over 2,000, primarily from South Korea, Vietnam, and Thailand.
To improve service, the airport added fast-track lanes at security and boarding areas, aiding 56 unaccompanied minors and 34 wheelchair users. More security gates were also opened during peak hours to ease congestion.
