A job fair for people with disabilities was held in Yichang on Monday, drawing over 300 job seekers and resulting in 68 preliminary employment agreements.

Fifty companies, including Hubei Impasse, Pengli Technology, and Huaxin Optical, offered 1,238 job opportunities. In addition to full-time roles, various flexible positions were available.
"These flexible jobs have no limits on working hours and locations, making them more accessible for people with disabilities. We also teach skills like rope making and handcrafted flower creation," said Hong Xia, head of the Lübo Workshop Cooperative.
Huang Jian, who runs an express delivery distribution station with his wife, was looking for part-time work to supplement their income. However, both face challenges in the job market due to their disabilities. "There are many suitable jobs here. After looking around, I think making handmade flowers is perfect for me. I only need to work two or three hours a day," said Huang.
The fair also provided services such as sign language interpretation, policy consultation, skills training, and employment assistance. Going forward, Yichang’s government departments plan to host more recruitment activities for people with disabilities.
