The Zhichanghe reservoir, set to be completed by 2027, will supply 3.65 million cubic meters of water annually, with a total storage capacity of 1.536 million cubic meters.

The reservoir is located 10 kilometers upstream on the Tianchi River, a tributary of the Qing River. It is a small reservoir (Class IV) built for local water supply, with added flood control functions.

A new company, Hubei Shuifa Changle Investment Co., Ltd., was set up on the same day to run the project. Jointly funded by Hubei Water Resources Development Group and the county government, the company will manage water projects in Wufeng.
