Construction accelerates at new chemical industry park

Construction is in full swing at Manaohe Park in the Yichang Eastern Industrial New Zone, the city’s newest hub for the chemical industry. Site preparation for the Yonfer Phosphorus-Based New Materials Circular Economy Industrial Park is currently underway and expected to be completed by the end of this month.
"As a chemical project, it requires higher standards for ground settlement to ensure smooth equipment installation and daily production, so we are carrying out secondary reinforcement," said Wang Yanjun, the project's construction supervisor.
Construction is in full swing at Manaohe Park in the Yichang Eastern Industrial New Zone, the city’s newest hub for the chemical industry. Site preparation for the Yonfer Phosphorus-Based New Materials Circular Economy Industrial Park is currently underway and expected to be completed by the end of this month.

The site preparation is underway at the construction site of Manaohe Park in Yichang Eastern Industrial New Zone.
In the first half of this year, 3,000 mu (200 hectares) of land were developed in Manaohe Park. The Yonfer project, the first major enterprise to break ground, has officially begun construction.
The project will be constructed in two phases and will produce high-value products such as food-grade phosphoric acid, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride. This will ensure the comprehensive utilization of phosphorus ore and its associated resources.
"This project will propel Yonfer toward high-quality development in both traditional phosphate fertilizers and emerging sectors like new energy, new materials, and fine chemicals, driving industrial upgrading through advanced productivity," said Yan Zhao, the project leader.
Manaohe Park will focus on the modern chemical and new materials industries. The first phase, which has received a total investment of approximately 2.5 billion yuan (US$344 million), includes site preparation, road construction, and the installation of steam pipelines and sewage networks. The current focus is constructing major roads, including Yaguan Avenue and Yashu Cross Road.
Yaguan Avenue, a crucial 2.14-kilometer arterial road for park access, has completed its base layer.
"It is expected to open to traffic in September, ensuring the efficient transportation of construction materials for Yonfer and other future projects," said Huang Jian, project manager from Yichang Industrial Investment Group.
The Eastern Industrial New Zone represents a major initiative by Yichang to promote concentrated, high-quality development of urban and industrial areas.
Construction of the zone began in late 2023, with a focus on modern chemical materials, new energy and high-end equipment manufacturing.
