Yichang began this year’s air-conditioned bus service on July 25, offering relief from the summer heat to outdoor workers.

This year, the Yichang Public Transport Group has stationed vehicles near six urban construction sites across the city, including the new campus of Hubei Three Gorges Polytechnic, the Xiling District Integrated Medical Care Service Center, and the Yichangbei Railway Station projects.
From July 25 to August 31, these air-conditioned buses will operate daily from 11 am to 3 pm, inviting construction workers to rest after working in the heat throughout the morning.
Each bus is stocked with basic supplies, water, and heatstroke prevention medicines.

The bus company noted that parking locations may shift depending on demand.
From 6 pm to 9:20 pm during the period, two double-decker buses will run a special cooling route between the Three Gorges Tourist Center and Yiling Square every 40 minutes in both directions. Residents can board using regular transit cards and enjoy the city's night views.
Yichang began this service in 2022 to offer outdoor workers relief from the excruciatingly hot weather.
