The Yichang-Seoul flight operates on Tuesdays and Fridays under flight numbers 7C8487 and 7C8488. Flight 7C8487 departs Seoul Incheon International Airport at 12:10 pm Beijing time, arriving in Yichang at 2:30 pm. Flight 7C8488 leaves Yichang at 3:30 pm and reaches Seoul Incheon at 7:40 pm.

This route was previously served by South Korea’s Jin Air but was suspended at the end of May due to a decline in passenger volume because of seasonal factors.

Yichang Sanxia International Airport has partnered with customs, border inspection, and Jeju Air to create a tailored entry and exit experience for travelers to and from Seoul. The airport has also implemented specialized training programs to enhance staff capabilities in health quarantine, document inspection, and luggage supervision.

Since November 8, 2024, China has enacted a unilateral visa exemption policy for 47 countries, including South Korea. This trial policy allows entry for business, tourism, family visits, and transit for up to 15 days. On November 30, the stay period was extended to 30 days, significantly enhancing travel convenience for South Korean visitors to China.

Yichang Sanxia International Airport currently operates six international routes to Krung Thep Maha Nakhon (Thailand), Hanoi (Vietnam), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Seoul (South Korea), Singapore, and Hong Kong (China).

From January to August 2025, the airport handled over 700 international flights, with passenger throughput reaching 86,700 - a nearly 22 percent year-on-year increase and a record for the same period. About 60 percent of these passengers were foreign.

The airport aims to strengthen collaboration with major airlines to maintain stable flight capacity for the Southeast Asian market and enhance services for international flights, offering more route options and improved travel experiences.
