The 16th China Yangtze River Three Gorges International Tourism Festival opened on September 6 in Yichang, with an opening ceremony staged on the Yangtze River.

Set against the backdrop of the Yangtze River Three Gorges Cruise Center, the stage, built above the water, hosted a six-part performance highlighting Yichang’s landscapes and culture. Musicians and performers staged stunning performances featuring song and dance, short plays, instrumental music, and kung fu.

The festival will run through October 5 and feature various activities like cultural experiences, specialty cuisine, and tourism promotions.
To attract more travelers, Yichang launched preferential offers such as "One Ticket for Multiple Days" and "Visit Scenic Spots for Just One Yuan." The city will launch a Three Gorges Cultural Tourism Passport stamp collection activity, organize a red oil baozi making competition, open a special snack market, and publish an Yichang culinary map, guiding visitors to savor authentic local flavors. Major scenic spots will also host local events, such as Hanfu shows and Tujia ethnic cultural experiences.
Over 200 travel agents from around the world will gather in Yichang for the 2025 Global Tour Operators Conference. The conference will promote multiple international tourism routes in Hubei, further elevating the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River as a global cultural and tourism destination.

The large-scale tourism festival is jointly organized by the Hubei provincial government and Chongqing municipal government. Held for 15 years alternating between the two locations, it has become a staple in China’s tourism industry.
