Yichang launched regular international air cargo service on November 18 as a batch of goods was transported to Hong Kong via Greater Bay Area Airlines, before being forwarded to Southeast Asia.

This batch of goods included machinery and electronic tools, all checked in and cleared at Yichang Sanxia International Airport.

Since the beginning of this year, with 24x7 support from Yichang Customs, Yichang Sanxia Airport Logistics Co., Ltd. has significantly improved port clearance efficiency. The company has also collaborated with the Municipal Bureau of Commerce to hold various foreign trade resource promotion meetings across Yichang’s districts and neighboring counties and cities.

To expand its international network, the airport has linked up with major global aviation hubs, engaged airlines and freight forwarders, and signed several international freight cooperation agreements.

The airport has also launched several international routes via Hong Kong to the Philippines, Japan and Thailand, while expanding domestic-international transshipment cooperation with Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

So far, 43 shipments of high-value-added products, including silver jewelry, machinery, and electronic tools, have been transported via Yichang Sanxia International Airport, with a total value exceeding US$2 million.

Since the official launch of Yichang's international air cargo service on March 26, Yichang Sanxia Airport Logistics Co., Ltd. has introduced belly cargo services on multiple routes to Bangkok, Hong Kong, and other destinations, and continues to expand cargo links with more cities offering international connections.

This new channel has greatly improved logistics efficiency for local manufacturing enterprises and foreign trade companies, reducing average cargo transportation time by two to three days and lowering their overall transportation costs.

The airport plans to further deepen cooperation with airlines, customs, freight forwarding companies, and other parties to optimize customs clearance efficiency and service processes, and accelerate the development of an international cargo system supported by both direct flights and transshipment routes.
