Late night "red-eye" high-speed trains have been launched at Yichang East Railway Station to meet demand during the Spring Festival travel rush.

To ensure a smooth experience for passengers returning home for family reunions, China Railway Wuhan Group added 385 temporary trains on February 8, including connections to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen.

A key measure is the operation of 117 additional late-night high-speed trains. These services are deployed on popular routes including Hankou–Yichang East to significantly increase transport capacity and provide passengers with more flexible options.

During the whole Spring Festival travel peak season from February 2 to March 13, 36 pairs of "red-eye" high-speed trains will depart or arrive at Yichang East Railway Station. Across China, people will make 9.5 billion trips between private cars, trains, and airplanes.

From 10 pm on February 8 to 5 am on February 9, late-night high-speed trains frequently departed from Wuhan Railway Station bound for destinations such as Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen North, Guangzhou South, Shanghai Hongqiao, and Yichang East.

Additional services also traveled to Wuhan from places including Fuzhou South, Huanggang East, Zhengzhou East, Jiangyin, Yichang East, Guiyang North, Daye North, Qichun South, Guangzhou South, Shenzhen North, and Yangxin.
