Central China’s first “5G+AI” intelligent green foundry center has begun operations in Yichang.

Yichang Xingzhou Heavy Casting and Forging Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of CSSC (China State Shipbuilding Corporation), has begun operations in Yichang.
The foundry center, operated by CSSC Yichang Xingzhou Heavy Casting and Forging Co., Ltd., is located in the Yichangbei High-Speed Railway Industrial Park in Yiling District. With a total investment of 600 million yuan (US$87 million) and covering 20 hectares, it has an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons, and an estimated annual output value of 1 billion yuan, contributing 30 million yuan in tax revenue each year.
Compared with traditional casting lines, the center integrates “5G + AI” technologies, reducing energy consumption by 60 percent and increasing production efficiency by roughly 40 percent. It is equipped with an RGV automated transfer system, an electric arc furnace, and automated feeding and processing systems, among other advanced technologies.
“In the future, we plan to cover the entire roof with photovoltaic panels, making this the greenest foundry center in Central China,” according to Chief Engineer Liu Weizuo. The company aims to adopt solar power throughout its operations to further advance green production.
