The released fingerlings are second‑generation artificially bred stock, each measuring between 20 and 40 centimeters in length. They were selected by the Yangtze River Fisheries Research Institute, according to the event organizers.

The Chinese sturgeon is a national first‑class protected aquatic wild animal and a flagship species of the Yangtze River ecosystem. Known as the “giant panda of the water,” it is also considered a “living fossil.”
The Yidu Green Intelligent Shipbuilding Park spans about 733 hectares and focuses on new‑energy and high‑end specialty vessels, supporting Yangtze River conservation and China’s “Dual Carbon” goals.
