The conference will bring together experts and business leaders to advance energy storage innovation, industrial collaboration, real-world applications, and global cooperation, contributing Yichang’s insights and China’s solutions to global energy security and the green energy transition.
Located at the junction of the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Yichang is a national transportation and port logistics hub. It is home to the Three Gorges and Gezhouba dams, giving the city strong advantages in energy, transportation, and industry.
In recent years, Yichang has prioritized the development of high-level R&D platforms to drive emerging industries, attracting major firms such as Cornex New Energy, Envision Group, Brunp Recycling Technology, and Sunwoda. Its total new energy battery capacity now exceeds 300 GWh, forming a closed-loop chain from phosphate resources to batteries, applications, and recycling. Energy storage and power batteries are already widely used in ships, heavy trucks, public transportation, and industrial park microgrids.
Yichang is pursuing carbon neutrality leadership, hub-driven growth, and industrial upgrading as it works to become a global energy storage hub. Its 15th Five-Year Plan focuses on strengthening modern chemical new materials, expanding into battery materials and electronic chemicals, integrating its phosphorus, coal, salt, fluorine, and silicon resources, and building a world-class phosphorus chemical circular industry cluster.

The conference is expected to attract global resources, boost innovation and collaboration, and support the city’s push toward a trillion-yuan economy.
