More than 80,000 out-of-town visitors traveled to Yichang over the May 29-31 weekend for a lineup of major events, including the National College Basketball League (CUBAL) finals, a three-night concert by Chinese singer-songwriter Wang Sulong (Silence Wang), Yichang’s home match against Enshi in the 2026 Hubei City Football League, and the local dragon boat races.
According to data from Douyin Life Services, group-buying consumption in Yichang rose 71 percent year on year during the three-day period.

The data also showed that, from May 29 to 31, group-buying orders in Yichang increased 88 percent year on year for dining, 75 percent for leisure and entertainment, 73 percent for retail, and 47 percent for hotels. Orders for barbecue rose 106 percent, while crayfish orders increased 93 percent.
