City airport sets record for international travelers in H1

In the first half of 2026, Yichang Sanxia International Airport set a record with 67,400 international passenger trips and 490 inbound and outbound flights, up 1.04 percent year on year.
Of those passengers, 38,000 were foreign travelers, including 16,100 foreign nationals who entered China visa-free, up 37 percent year on year.

Since the beginning of the year, Yichang has leveraged China’s updated border policies to launch or restore international and regional flights to Vladivostok, Vientiane, Hanoi, Incheon, Kuching, Cheongju, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.
