City airport sets record for international travelers in H1

In the first half of 2026, Yichang Sanxia International Airport set a record with 67,400 international passenger trips and 490 inbound and outbound flights, up 1.04 percent year on year.
Of those passengers, 38,000 were foreign travelers, including 16,100 foreign nationals who entered China visa-free, up 37 percent year on year.

Yichang Sanxia International Airport launches its first direct flight to Vladivostok on March 14.
Since the beginning of the year, Yichang has leveraged China’s updated border policies to launch or restore international and regional flights to Vladivostok, Vientiane, Hanoi, Incheon, Kuching, Cheongju, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.
Flight 9H8475 carries the first batch of passengers to Hanoi, Vietnam on March 29.
In the first half of the year, travelers from 40 countries and regions entered China through Yichang, while travelers from the Chinese mainland flew from Yichang to 31 countries and regions.
