Local village’s Party leadership team receives national honor

Zhengjiabang of Longzhouping Town, Changyang Tujia Autonomous County, was once a poor remote village. After the Qingjiang Fangshan Scenic Area opened in 2014, the village’s Party branch adopted a joint development model to develop the village together with the scenic area. The two organizations jointly led the area’s growth and established volunteer teams to manage visitor flow and maintain order during peak seasons.

To develop the local economy, the village Party branch established a tourism company and a local sales cooperative, while promoting livestreaming and e-commerce. These initiatives boosted online farm-product sales by 40 percent year on year and increased 50 farming households’ annual incomes by over 8,000 yuan (US$1,176) on average.
Working with seven neighboring villages, Zhengjiabang Village has developed study-tour routes that attract over 40,000 students a year. Since 2025, it has hosted 12 university teams for rural practice programs, generating nearly 2 million yuan in extra income for farming households.
In cultural tourism, Zhengjiabang Village has hosted the New Year Pig Feast and other traditional folk events, drawing 1 million visitors and generating 600,000 yuan annually.

The village was split into 15 micro-grid management units, with 45 Party members taking on various responsibilities, such as policy promotion and dispute mediation, while providing public services like collective birthday celebrations for seniors.
From 2023 to 2025, the village’s collective economic income exceeded 1 million yuan for three consecutive years. Zhengjiabang Village has also received national-level honors including “National Key Rural Tourism Village” and “National Model Village.”
