LNG station sets monthly fueling record

A pilot liquefied natural gas (LNG) ship refueling station in Yichang set a monthly fueling record in June. As the first LNG bunkering station in the middle and upper reaches of the Yangtze River, Hubei Zhongyi LNG Refueling Station surpassed 1,000 tons of fuel supplied in a single month for the first time since beginning operations in April 2023.

The project, led by Zhongyi Holdings, boasts a 7,000-ton floating LNG refueling berth and three LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 150 cubic meters of gas.
Apart from reducing ships’ energy costs, the new terminal is expected to decrease CO and CO2 emissions by 6,560 tons annually.
In addition to supplying clean fuel, it now provides waste collection, shuttle services, procurement assistance, and parcel handling, evolving into a multifunctional service hub for energy, environmental protection, and general support services.
