State Grid employees use a drone to inspect power lines. The increase was driven by expanded production at major manufacturers. A 110-kV substation serving AESC's lithium battery industrial park began operation on June 30, while Brunp Yihua resumed full-scale production after scheduled maintenance. Hubei Gellec New Energy maintained high power demand following the completion of its expansion, Cornex New Energy added eight battery production lines, and Hubei Yihua has been operating at full capacity since January.
Electricity demand continued to climb in July. Daily consumption exceeded 100 million kWh for the first time on July 14, one day after the city's peak grid load reached a record 5 million kW.
To support growing demand, State Grid Yichang Power Supply Company has introduced a project leader system and a real-time monitoring platform to speed up problem resolution. It also provides dedicated services for 77 large industrial customers connected at 110 kV or above and has prepared tailored contingency plans for 30 key users.
With hotter weather expected, the utility said it will prioritize residential electricity supply while ensuring a stable power for major industrial projects and key commercial users during the summer peak.
