The test train departed Yichangbei Railway Station and gradually accelerated to the target speed of 385 km/h to verify the stability of the track, power supply, and other systems under extreme conditions, ensuring an adequate safety margin.
The 108.38-km Yichang–Xingshan High-Speed Railway is designed to operate at 350 km/h, cutting travel time between Yichang and Xingshan from 2 hours to about 20 minutes and reducing trips between Yichang and Chongqing to roughly 3 hours. The Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu and Zhengzhou–Chongqing high-speed railways will both connect to the line at Xingshan.
