A large pure-electric cruise ship built by a Yichang shipbuilder was delivered to its client in neighboring Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture on July 30, marking another achievement in Yichang’s growing green shipbuilding industry.

The pure-electric cruise ship “Shennongxi No.16” heads to the Badong Shennongxi Tourist Terminal in Enshi Prefecture for delivery.
Constructed by Hubei Jianghui Offshore Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., “Shennongxi No.16” was delivered to the Badong Shennongxi Tourist Terminal in Enshi Prefecture. The ship measures 44.35 meters long, 10 meters wide, and 2.9 meters deep. It can carry 480 passengers, making it the largest pure-electric cruise ship built by Jianghui Offshore in terms of passenger capacity.
The ship can rotate 360 degrees and is easy to maneuver with two 240-kilowatt pod thrusters. Powered entirely by electricity, it produces zero emissions, low noise, and low energy consumption.
To ensure the ship’s smooth completion, Yichang’s maritime authorities provided full-chain support covering construction, launching, sea trials, and delivery. On July 26, "Shennongxi No.16" was transported upstream to Badong as part of a fleet. Officers from the Yidu Maritime Office remotely monitored and inspected the fleet through drones and surveillance systems.
“Shennongxi No.16” represents Yichang’s green and intelligent shipbuilding industry, one of the city’s key development sectors. The city has established a coordinated industrial system covering ship manufacturing and research. In the first half of 2026, Yichang saw significant growth in new energy ship orders and deliveries.
