New progress made on Xiba Tourism Island project

The steel grid roof of the Tracing the Jiu Ge Theater has been hoisted into position at Xiba Tourism Island, marking a major milestone in the construction of the theater, a core component of the Yichang tourism project.
The grid structure is the first of its kind to be used in a project, and a patent application for the technology has been filed.

The project is located at the site of the former Yichang Shipyard, which was built in 1956. Xiba Tourism Island is being developed as a cultural and commercial tourism destination centered on Yangtze River culture.
The theater's facade draws inspiration from phoenix feathers, reflecting the design concept of "a phoenix reborn, soaring and rising." Its large-span, double-curved design give the building a flowing, dynamic appearance.

The interior of the theater features water scenery systems, including a rising underwater stage and an overhead water curtain, capable of presenting scenes such as surging river waters. Of its 1,200 seats, 600 can rotate, giving audiences a 360-degree immersive viewing experience.

An immersive Yangtze River-themed performance titled Tracing the Jiu Ge, centered on Qu Yuan’s cultural legacy, will be staged at the theater. The project is currently advancing steadily while other projects also reach key milestones in succession, as a new cultural and tourism landmark along the Yangtze River takes shape.
