Youth engineering and AI competitions open in Yichang

The Hubei qualifying round of the National Youth Future Engineers Expo and Competition began on September 26 at Yichang Vocational College of Science and Technology. The inaugural Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition for Yichang-Jingzhou-Jingmen-Enshi Metropolitan Area was also held at the same venue.

The event features five categories: AI, Maker, Robotics, Drones, and BeiDou satellite navigation. Its 13 competitions include water rockets, ground robot combat, drone soccer, and 3D creative programming.

More than 1,200 primary and high school students from Wuhan, Yichang, Jingzhou, Xianning, Enshi, and other cities competed on the opening day.

Upgraded from the Yichang Robotics Association’s Maker Carnival, the competition now features more events and provides a platform for young people to practice their skills, exchange ideas, and showcase their creativity while developing an interest in science, innovation, and hands-on learning.
