Shengrong Construction Group began production at a 380 million yuan ($57 million) glass manufacturing park on October 29, moving the local builder into high-end glass manufacturing and giving Central China its first source of oversized, premium panels.

The 100-mu (6.7-hectare) Shengrong Intelligent Technology Industrial Park in Yichang High-Tech Zone operates fully automated production lines managed by a digital platform. Chairman Xu Fengyang said the system has increased production efficiency by 30 percent while keeping the defect rate below 0.5 percent.

Equipped with Yichang's first heat soak furnace and automated optical inspection equipment, the plant can produce panels measuring up to 3 by 12 meters, roughly the height of a four-story building. The heat soak process subjects tempered glass to controlled heating and cooling, significantly reducing the risk of spontaneous breakage that has long been a concern in curtain wall projects.

Automated equipment processes oversized glass panels.

The park produces seven types of glass products, including tempered, insulated, laminated, and low-emissivity (Low-E) glass. They are used in large-scale curtain walls and landmark buildings, as well as sunrooms and shower enclosures where sound insulation and energy efficiency are important.

Beyond manufacturing, the park offers a one-stop service covering design, precision measurement, logistics, and installation guidance. The company expects the plant to help drive upgrades across Central China's glass industry.
