It’s common for Chinese people to put up spring couplets in celebration of the New Year during the Spring Festival. Spring couplets, with their neat and concise text, are a unique form of literature in China and one of the most important customs of this holiday. Putting up spring couplets not only creates a festive atmosphere, but also sets expectations for the new year.
