The Wuhan-Yichang section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway began trial operations on August 26, following comprehensive testing and commissioning. Designed for speeds of 350 km/h, the new line will cut travel time between Yichang and Wuhan to about one hour once it officially opens.
