China achieved a milestone in Yidu City with the successful launch of Shenghang, the country’s first integrated reverse-pull slipway launch system. Developed by China Railway Science and Industry, the system uses a three-stage process, land traction, embankment-top transfer, and slipway launch.
During the test, a 130-meter-long, 2,000-ton vessel was smoothly guided over a 10-meter embankment, proving the system’s stability and efficiency. This breakthrough means future shipyards in China could be built in more diverse locations, marking a significant step forward for domestic shipbuilding technology.
