Within the vast Three Gorges region, majestic landscapes cradle hidden realms of biodiversity.

Explore the Three Gorges, a bilingual documentary series, takes viewers into protected reserves along the Yangtze River, including the Hubei Dalaoling National Nature Reserve, the Hubei Badong Rhinopithecus roxellanae National Nature Reserve, and the Wulipo National Nature Reserve. These areas support unique species, vital ecosystems, and well-preserved habitats under long-term conservation efforts.

In Episode 2, Luo Xufeng, a student from China Three Gorges University, joins forest ranger Jiang Bangqiong on a field journey in the Hubei Badong Rhinopithecus roxellanae National Nature Reserve. The Reserve is home to more than 800 Sichuan golden snub-nosed monkeys. By studying their feeding habits, conservationists have created new food sources at lower elevations, encouraging the monkeys to range from around 1,500 meters down to 800 meters.

Ranger patrols, scientific monitoring, and habitat restoration together form a layered protection system, helping ensure the long-term survival of this rare species.

Join us in Episode 2: Explore the Three Gorges - Badong, and discover the natural wonders hidden within the mountains.
