Xiongdu Dam Pre-Releases Water Ahead of Heavy Rain

Xiongdu Dam began pre-releasing water on August 5 to prepare for possible heavy rainfall. The initial flow is 30 cubic meters per second. Total discharge will reach 1 million cubic meters. This lowers the water level below the flood-control limit and frees up storage capacity to protect downstream areas.
