Birds flock to Yichang, a model of human-nature harmony

Chinese mergansers were spotted at Dangyang Qinglonghu National Wetland Park on May 14, showcasing Yichang's rising reputation as a bird sanctuary.

In recent years, Yichang has become a paradise for many bird species, highlighting a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

On May 5, two egrets frolicked in the water at the Gezhouba Dam riverside. 

On April 15, a kingfisher was hunting for food at riverside.


On April 3, swallows were nesting in the Xiaoting District.


On March 10, six mallards were playfully swimming in the Yichang section of the Yangtze River at Yanzhiba.


On March 8, a black-chinned yuhina perched on a branch of a crabapple tree at the Three Gorges Botanical Garden.


On March 1, a line of cormorants flew close to the water's surface at Jijiahu Lake in Dangyang.


On February 25, three black storks were seen sunbathing at Jijiahu Lake in Dangyang.
