Qu Yuan’s hometown holds Poetry Festival

The 2025 Sanlu Saotan Poetry Festival took place June 10 in Zigui, the hometown of Qu Yuan (339-278 BC), the renowned poet honored by the creation of zongzi and the Dragon Boat Festival. Local farmers, poets, and cultural figures from Hunan and Hubei provinces gathered to pay tribute to Qu Yuan through poetry and foster friendships through literature. The Sanlu Saotan Poetry Society boasts more than 30 poetry collections and over 50,000 poems, with over 2,500 members, 80% of whom are farmers.
