100-ton steel casing hoisted into position at wharf in Yichang

A 102-ton steel casing was installed yesterday as part of a “water-pipeline-water” multimodal transport model over the Three Gorges Dam. Measuring 61.5 meters in length and 2.6 meters in diameter, its installation marks a significant milestone for the Jiangnan Refined Oil Wharf project. This project is part of a larger system that will deliver refined oil through ships and dedicated pipeline across the Dam. Upon completion, the project will free up a one-way cargo transport capacity of 15 million tons per year over the Dam’s ship lock.
