New amphibian species discovered in Wufeng

The January 2026 issue of Zoosystematics and Evolution reported the discovery of a new salamander species in Wufeng, Yichang: Tylototriton wufengensis. The finding highlights Wufeng’s ecological diversity and offers a new reference point for research on amphibian evolution in Central China.
