Piers of the Yichang Yangtze River Rail-Cum-Road Bridge are under construction. A bullet train travels across the adjacent Yichang-Wanzhou Railway Bridge.
As a key project of the Shanghai–Chongqing–Chengdu High-Speed Railway, the bridge will further boost economic ties between the Yangtze River Delta and the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.
