2025-12-15 14:12:56
Hongla Mountain, located in Mangkam County, Chamdo City, Xizang Autonomous Region, is one of the key homes of the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey. The Yunnan snub-nosed monkey is a globally rare and endangered species endemic to China. Local governments at all levels have invested at least 40 million yuan (US$ 5.66 million) in protection funds.
Thanks to a series of effective conservation measures, the Yunnan snub-nosed monkey population has gradually recovered, rising from over 500 in the 1980s to more than 800 today.
