Explore the Three Gorges, a bilingual documentary series, invites viewers into protected reserves along the Yangtze River, including the Hubei Dalaoling National Nature Reserve, the Hubei Badong Rhinopithecus roxellanae National Nature Reserve, and the Chongqing Wulipo National Nature Reserve. Within these havens thrive unique species, vital ecosystems, and pristine habitats, safeguarded by dedicated conservation efforts.
Episode 1 takes viewers into the heart of the Hubei Dalaoling National Nature Reserve, located on the northern bank of the Xiling Gorge. Here, forestry engineer Peng Gangzhi and YICC reporter Hu Yikai hike from 145-meter valleys to 2,005-meter peaks, revealing forests with a 91.8% coverage rate, crystal-clear mountain streams, ancient Tertiary relic trees, flying squirrels, and a wide variety of bird species.
