As a pilot college for the modern apprenticeship system under China’s Ministry of Education, one of the first pilot institutions for the modern apprenticeship system in Hubei Province, a “Double High” college in Hubei Province, and a typical demonstration college for industry-education integration in Yichang, the college leverages its unique advantages as an enterprise-run institution. It has established in-depth college-enterprise partnerships with more than 50 enterprises and signed internship agreements with more than 30 enterprises.

Following the training philosophy of “employment upon enrollment and apprenticeship upon admission,” the college and enterprises jointly develop talent training programs and course materials, fully integrating enterprise technical standards and corporate culture throughout the educational process. In partnership with Energy China Group, the college contributed to the Group’s successful selection as a national industry-education integration enterprise, while Gezhouba Group was recognized as the only first-batch nationally certified industry-education integration enterprise in Hubei Province.

The college holds 23 training qualifications across five major categories and has established platforms including a National Employee Training Demonstration Base and a Hubei Provincial Industrial Worker Training Demonstration Base. It provides training for approximately 40,000 participants each year, offering enterprises multi-level training in areas such as Party-building for cadres, management and business operations, technical skills, and work safety. It also actively supports the Belt and Road Initiative by delivering electric power vocational education resources overseas and providing localized training for technical and skilled talent.

The college has received multiple honors, including the "Model College for Vocational Education in Electric Power" from the former Ministry of Electric Power, Advanced Collective in Vocational Education in Hubei Province, National Demonstration Point for Employee Education and Training, and a construction base for the Craftsman College of Energy, Chemistry, and Geology System.
