Yichang Humanwell Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd was established on August 8, 2001. Its predecessor, Hubei Yiyao Group, is a long standing pharmaceutical conglomerate founded in 1954.

Humanwell is the largest government designated anesthetics developer and manufacturer in China.

Humanwell has its products registered and sold in 45 countries and regions globally, with 15 high-end oral solid products that have obtained ANDA certification from the US FDA.

Humanwell currently has 200 in-research products and over 100 patents. The company has a series of narcotic and psychotropic drugs, occupying over 60 percent market share in China. They have been granted the title of a Key Hi-Tech Enterprise of China.
