To meet travel demands during the summer season, the airport has collaborated with airlines to optimize capacity and networks by adding new routes and increasing flight frequencies.

This summer, 15 airlines operated a total of 37 routes covering 47 domestic and international destinations. New routes were launched to popular tourist cities including Xining, Lijiang, Xishuangbanna, and Hohhot, while flight frequencies to Jinan and Fuzhou have also been increased.

The airport continued to increase flight frequencies to major national hubs such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, to ensure there are always flights during day and night times. Flights to Beijing have been increased to at least three round-trip flights daily, covering both Beijing Capital International Airport and Beijing Daxing International Airport. There are also three round-trip flights to Shanghai, two to Guangzhou, and three to Shenzhen each day, providing passengers with a wider range of time options.

Meanwhile, Yichang Sanxia International Airport is exploring new models for integrating aviation and tourism, leveraging its position as a key hub to attract passengers. The airport has established collaboration platforms, introduced seasonal tourist routes, and launched Air + Travel benefit programs with local cultural and tourism authorities. These efforts have collectively boosted Yichang’s appeal to passengers and travelers.
