Hubei Province’s first cross-border e-commerce industrial park focused on Southeast Asia opened in Yichang at the end of July. The Yimiaotong Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park is offering imported goods at prices up to 20 percent cheaper than traditional channels and targets 300 million yuan (US$41.9 million) in annual sales within this year.
Another key competitive edge is the park’s overseas warehousing system, built by its investor. By shipping directly from its 4,000-sq-meter public warehouse in Malaysia, the park can cut cross-border delivery time from one to two months to just three to four days.
