Three decades of ties: Yichang and Ludwigsburg deepen sister-city bond with new cooperation pact

Yichang City and Ludwigsburg County in Germany have signed a three-year cooperation action plan to strengthen collaboration in innovation, trade, investment, and tourism.
On September 1, a delegation from Ludwigsburg arrived in Yichang to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their sister-city relationship. The group was led by President Allgaier Dietmar and included 15 government officials and the 72-member Kreisjugend Orchester Ludwigsburg. Chen Honghui, Mayor of Yichang, met with the delegation, expressed hopes to boost cooperation, and signed the action plan.

On September 1, the delegation visited the Yichang-Ludwigsburg Friendship Tree, planted more than 20 years ago.

The delegation toured key institutions and companies such as Yichang Central People's Hospital, Yichang Planning and Exhibition Hall, Yiling High School, Angel Yeast, Cornex New Energy, Hubei Changshengchuan Tea, and Qingjiang Sturgeon Valley.

Mr. Allgaier and Zhu Xiaobin, deputy director-general of Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People's Government, exchanged gifts at Yichang Planning and Exhibition Hall on September 3, where the 30th Anniversary of Friendly Relations photo exhibition is held.
To highlight their renewed partnership, the theme “Three Decades of Friendship—Hand in Hand Toward the Future” framed concerts in Yiling District and Yidu City. Conducted by Roland Haug, the Kreisjugend Orchester Ludwigsburg performed Chinese and Western works, including "Tik-Tak Polka" and "Jasmine Flower," earning warm applause from local audiences.

On the evenings of September 2 and 3, concerts themed “Three Decades of Friendship — Hand in Hand Toward the Future” were held in Yiling District and Yidu City.
