Sanxia International Airport expands routes and capacity for Golden Week travel rush

Yichang Sanxia International Airport is boosting flights and capacity ahead of the upcoming Golden Week holiday, with plans to serve about 90,000 passengers across 718 flights.

From October 1 to 8, the airport will average 90 flights per day, connecting to 46 destinations on 36 routes during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival period.

Domestic service will see significant increases. The Yichang-Shenzhen route will expand to four daily round trips. Flights to Beijing will range from three to four per day, while Yichang-Shanghai and Yichang-Guangzhou will each operate three daily services. Other major cities, including Kunming, Guiyang, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Qingdao, Huizhou, Urumqi, Shantou, Ningbo, Xi’an, Wenzhou, and Taizhou, will have one to two daily flights.

Internationally, the airport will maintain stable services to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Seoul, Singapore, and Hong Kong, with 32 international and regional flights scheduled during the holiday period.
