A total of 464 GAC Trumpchi vehicles were shipped from the Yichang Comprehensive Bonded Zone at the end of September. They were transported by rail from Yichang East Railway Station to Guangzhou’s Nansha Port, where they were loaded onto a ship bound for Mexico.

This marks the first time fully assembled vehicles from Yichang have been exported through the city’s Comprehensive Bonded Zone, opening a new channel for local automobile exports.

The GS3 EMZOOM SUVs bound for the Mexican market were all produced at GAC Trumpchi’s Yichang Plant in Xiaoting District, with a total export value of 36 million yuan (US$5.04 million).

The GS3 EMZOOM SUV, launched in 2023, has gained popularity among young consumers and become central to GAC Motor's international growth, with the company establishing its first overseas KD factory in Malaysia last year, sourcing parts from the Yichang plant.

As a leading enterprise in Xiaoting District, the Yichang plant of GAC Trumpchi continues to expand its export vehicle production, jumping from 13,000 units in 2023 to 45,000 units in 2024.

On December 30 last year, 350 vehicles produced at the plant, valued at 30.7 million yuan, were shipped from Taicang Port in Jiangsu Province to Europe. This shipment marked the first direct export of Yichang-made vehicles by the Yichang branch of GAC’s international sales unit.

This year, the plant expects to export around 3,000 vehicles through this direct export channel.
