The first batch of live sturgeon from Hubei Qingjiang Sturgeon Valley Special Fisheries Co., Ltd. arrived in Vietnam on November 1.

"This is our first export to Vietnam, with a total of 10 tons of commercial fish delivered within 24 hours. If this shipment goes smoothly, we will send another 20 tons within the next two weeks," said Hu Yingying, Foreign Trade Manager of the company.
Qingjiang Sturgeon Valley received certification for exporting aquatic animals in 2018 and began its export business to Kazakhstan. With its warm climate, limited local sturgeon farming capacity, and high market demand, Vietnam has long been a key target market for the company. This year, the Vietnamese market has finally opened to commercial sturgeon from China.
To ensure the sturgeon from Yichang arrive in Vietnam alive and fresh, they undergo a two-to-three-month acclimation process in open-air environments, helping them adjust to the new temperature and conditions upon arrival.

Entering the Vietnamese market opens the door for follow-up orders, making this emerging market a key driver of the company's export growth. "Following this initial order, we have already signed another sales agreement for 2,000 tons, which will fully open up the entire Vietnamese sturgeon market for us," said Yang Jianwen, the company's Quality Control Manager.
