Yichang Lianchuang Heyang Technology Industry Co., Ltd. has begun construction of a 10,000-ton silicon-carbon anode plant, the first in China co-located with two silane suppliers and a full feedstock-to-battery industrial chain. The project marks a major step toward making Yichang a global hub for next-generation lithium-ion materials.

Covering 152 mu (10.1 hectares) with a total investment of about 1 billion yuan, the project uses industry-leading technologies and equipment.

“Silicon-carbon anode materials are regarded as the next generation of lithium-ion battery anodes, offering wide applications and strong market potential,” said He Xiaofei, Executive Director of Yichang Lianchuang Heyang Technology Industry Co., Ltd.

Silicon-carbon anodes can meet the needs of high-energy-density, high-safety batteries and are considered a key material for future solid-state batteries. The Yichang High-Tech Zone is now advancing its new energy battery industry toward silicon-carbon anodes, aiming to build a complete industrial chain that links silane gas, anode materials, and battery manufacturing, and to develop a world-class silicon-carbon anode industrial park.

Two silane gas producers, Heyuan and Shenghao, have already set up operations in Baiyang Industrial Park, making it the only industrial park in China with dual silane supply. The gas is delivered directly through pipelines, ensuring stability while reducing safety risks and costs.

In recent years, Yichang Hi-Tech Zone has continued to upgrade its industrial structure, attracting leading enterprises such as CATL, Brunp, and Sunwoda to establish a presence in the area.
