The celebrated September Red navel oranges from the Three Gorges Reservoir area officially hit the market on November 15.
The celebrated September Red navel oranges from the Three Gorges Reservoir area officially hit the market on November 15.
People gather in Shuitianba Township, Zigui County, one of the main navel orange production areas, to celebrate this year’s launch of September Red.
The day also marked the start of the Orange King Competition, held in the heart of the main navel orange production area, Shuitianba Township, Zigui County.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from top growers, family farms, and cooperatives, all eager to showcase their best September Red oranges. Judges evaluated the fruit based on color, size, smoothness, and sugar-acid ratio.
Winner of the Orange King Competition
Zigui County in Yichang City, known as China's Hometown of Navel Oranges, is the first in the country to supply fresh oranges year-round. With annual production exceeding 1 million tons, its products are exported to over 140 foreign markets.
