Yichang’s foreign trade surges to 43.39 billion in first ten months

From January to October 2025, Yichang’s total foreign trade reached 43.39 billion yuan (US$6.1 billion), marking a robust year-on-year increase of 20.2 percent. Exports were the main growth driver, rising 26.2 percent to 35.16 billion yuan, while imports dipped slightly by 0.2 percent to 8.23 billion yuan.

Exports were the main growth driver, rising 26.2 percent to 35.16 billion yuan, while imports dipped slightly by 0.2 percent to 8.23 billion yuan.

Private enterprises showed strong momentum, with imports and exports totaling 33.82 billion yuan (up 28.6 percent), accounting for 78 percent of the city’s overall trade. Foreign-invested enterprises contributed 4.8 billion yuan (up 33.6 percent), representing 11.1 percent.
ASEAN emerged as Yichang's top trading partner with 10.7 billion yuan. Brazil and the EU followed with 5.21 billion yuan and 3.88 billion yuan, respectively. Trade with Belt and Road Initiative countries rose 31.7 percent to 28.82 billion yuan, while trade with RCEP countries increased 26.1 percent to 15.55 billion yuan.
Imports and exports handled via bonded logistics channels also performed strongly, jumping 50.3 percent to 2.51 billion yuan.
ASEAN emerged as Yichang's top trading partner with 10.7 billion yuan. Brazil and the EU followed with 5.21 billion yuan and 3.88 billion yuan, respectively. Trade with Belt and Road Initiative countries rose 31.7 percent to 28.82 billion yuan, while trade with RCEP countries increased 26.1 percent to 15.55 billion yuan.
