In an unprecedented 11-month construction timeline, CATL Brunp has launched the world's largest single-site lithium iron phosphate plant in Yichang. The 5.6 billion yuan facility features three workshops and six production lines, with an annual capacity of 450,000 tons. It will produce high-performance battery materials for faster-charging, longer-range electric vehicles.
On December 29, 2025, the Yichang Brunp Times lithium iron phosphate plant, the world's largest single-site facility of its kind, began operations.

As part of CATL Brunp's Integrated Industrial Park initiative, this project has established the world's largest single-site lithium iron phosphate plant. The facility, requiring a 5.6 billion yuan (US$800.41 million) investment, achieved an unprecedented construction timeline: signed in January 2025, construction began in February, and operations started in December.

Encompassing three workshops and six production lines with a 450,000-ton annual capacity, the plant stands as the largest lithium iron phosphate manufacturing base globally. It produces high compaction density materials that are ideal for new energy power batteries, offering advantages of faster charging, longer range, and enhanced low-temperature performance. Once fully operational, the project anticipates an annual output valued of 14.5 billion yuan.
