Yichang’s cross-border shopping center opened its first downtown site on December 31, 2025, at the Second Avenue Historical and Cultural Block.

Yichang C6 Cross-Border Shopping, named after its location in Zone C6 of the Yichang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, is the first cross-border cash-and-carry shop in Hubei Province outside the provincial capital of Wuhan. Since opening in 2022, it has brought together more than 20,000 products from nearly 100 brands across over 30 countries.

The center offers a curated selection of cross-border goods across eight categories, including beauty and skincare products, health supplements, clothing, bags, and alcohol.

Shoppers and tourists can place orders online through the "Yichang C6 Cross-border Shopping" (宜昌C6跨境购) WeChat mini-program. Alternatively, they can visit the offline store located within the Yichang Comprehensive Bonded Zone to make purchases.

Yichang C6 offers a zero-import tariff policy for every shopper within a quota, with 70 percent off on consumption and value-added tax. Each consumer may spend up to 26,000 yuan (US$3,662) per calendar year, with a single-purchase cap of 5,000 yuan. Prices are generally 30 to 50 percent lower than market prices.

Yichang C6’s future plans include opening more off-site exhibition centers to make high-quality imported goods accessible to more consumers. This move supports Yichang's goal of becoming a regional cross-border consumption hub, according to Gao Guangli, head of Yichang C6 Cross-Border Shopping.
